Daiso Craft Guide Part 1

Here is my list of must-buys at daiso!

Mainly for larger scaled miniatures evidently :3

Cookie Cutters! Could'nt find those regular shaped ones but these are adorable!

Daiso air dry clay is great stuff! I use it for whipped cream. Mixing it with resin clay would make very durable miniature/charms too. Using it by itself is not as recommended though.

These cups are around 1:3 ? or 1:4. They are the smallest paper cups I see and you should have seen my projects involving them.

$2 will get you 40 cups. I use them to mix stuff as well since 40 is A LOT. In fact I still have a lot left.

They come with a pump but I prefer piping bags. Of course, I feel that main tip you will use is the star tip, but maybe I'll think twice after experimenting with the rest.

$2 for 24 glue sticks! A lot cheaper than say sophie and toffee, or bookstores. They come in chocolate, white, pink and transparent.

Frostbags! They have different types of bags in daiso so look out for FROST BAGS. I buy the smallest because 1) I get 48 pieces 2) Piping miniature does not require a huge frost bag. I find that frost bags will decrease the chances of cream bursting out and holes in the bags.

Dollies Cutter! These are a bit too small, but for $2 I am happy with it. Just use it to cut dollies shaped paper, and poke holes using a needle. I like to have a corkboard underneath so that the tiny paper won't shift around.

There's so many possibilities at Daiso, thats why I'm naming this post Part 1 as I'm sure there's a lot more cool stuff to be shared!

Random Updates

Just  couple of WIP.

Cake made from the fruits! It now sits in my Dad's car :3

Experimenting with resin+daiso clay.

Old Macaron tower. I need to make a new one.

A Cuppa Beans

Spent the last day of 2012 doing these... Happy 2013 by the way!

Made from resin clay + water + a crazy lot of pastels + my cream mixture

For the pipping I failed numerous times because the white would mix witht he coffee so I don't know what reason. So I added acrylic gesso to the mixture and wala! But the tiny bit of mix would make the coffee look more realistic too!

As you can see the colour of the coffees vary because everytime I messed up the design I would just stir it and it would become lighter HAHA.

Random Huge Ass Cream puff I made because I was testing out my new clay! Yes new Air Dry Clay!

School started so there would be a lot less posts :/ In fact I scheduled many posts in case I make nothing in future HAHA.

Fruits!

&nbcp;I realise I'm posting a lot less WIP pictures because I'm lazy to take a SLR just to take those!

A christmas pressie I made.

Love the chocolate effect though my mom says it looks weird :(

Wanted to make it a bit more useful and practical which explains the paper clips.

And that funky wire thing is supposed to hold memos. Couldnt find the proper ones in the bookstore so I unwanked a paper clip haha.

HEHE I like this last picture. Can you see the tiny fruits too?

Wanted to make a similar one as I still have more of the fruits and canes but I could'nt find that container anymore :(

Anyways, the fruit making experience was shocking. I used to try orange caning which ended in horror. This time I thought it would turn out gross and all but no! Although they don't look VERY realistic but I would say the colors came out so brilliant! Making the strawberry canes were a little challenging too due to the awkward shape of the strawberries. I also decided to draw on the kiwi seeds because I am not convinced my caning is trustworthy. The mango were basically blocks of yellow clay so it was pretty ok.

Will definitely try making fruits again!!! Probably try with ADC since my resin clay order from tinkleart just came wooooohoo.
